Northern Garrett JCP (also going by Northern Garrett Soccer Club) is a thriving youth soccer club in northern Garrett County, Maryland.  We participate in the JCP Soccer League, a co-ed youth league centered in Allegany County, Maryland.  We aim to attract and train talented soccer players here in Garrett County and to hone their skills in an August-through-November competition with teams drawn from Allegany and Garrett Counties in Maryland, Mineral County in West Virginia, and Bedford and Somerset Counties in Pennsylvania.

We field teams in each of the JCP League’s four age classes: we have a Peewee team (grades K through 2), two Minor teams (grades 3 and 4), a Junior Varsity team (grades 5 and 6), and a Varsity team (grades 7 and 8).  We play our home games and practice at the beautiful soccer fields in Grantsville, which AYSO Region 861 graciously allows us to use.  Our teams comprise about 75 boys and girls attending Northern Middle School and its four elementary-school feeders.

Competing in the JCP League provides our local kids a positive outlet for their energy, an opportunity to practice good sportsmanship and make new friends, and a means to improve soccer skills.  We hope that, over time, these skills will lay the foundation for consistently winning soccer teams at Northern High School.  We started our club in 2017 and had a successful launch year.  Our 2018 campaign was even more successful, with a number of teams finishing near the top of the table.  We look forward to a still more successful 2019 season!
